Domestic Consumption and Household Stock of Storage Media in Japan

1. Introduction

Some studies have focused on the disposal of consumer-grade media reproduction devices, such as DVD (digital versatile disc) recorders, audio players, digital cameras, and so on [1, 2]. However, few studies have focused on waste management of the storage media itself. The purpose of this study was to research the current domestic consumption and stock of household storage media in Japan.
