Emission Factor for Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) from waste PCB storage sites

Introduction: In Japan, PCB waste is destructed with the aim of completing the process by 2027, under the PCB waste special measures law enacted in 2001. To evaluate the effect of treatment of PCB waste, it is necessary to quantify the reduction of PCB released to the environment due to the improved volatilization and leakage from the PCB waste storage sites. Thus, we estimated the emission factor for PCBs from waste storage sites.
